LEMONS and Lemon Aid

The lemon is a species of small evergreen tree in the Citrus genus of the flowering plant family Rutaceae. A true lemon is a hybrid of the citron and the bitter orange. Its origins are uncertain, but some evidence suggests lemons originated during the 1st millennium BC in what is now eastern India.

Rich in Vitamin C:

Lemons are an excellent source of vitamin C, an essential antioxidant that supports immune function, helps the body heal wounds, and is crucial for producing collagen, which promotes healthy skin.

  • Packed with antioxidants:

Lemons contain antioxidants like flavonoids that help fight free radicals, which can cause cell damage and contribute to diseases like cancer and heart disease.

    Aids iron absorption:

The vitamin C in lemons helps your body better absorb iron from plant-based foods, which can prevent iron deficiency anemia.

  • Provides other nutrients:

Lemons also contain small amounts of potassium, folate, and other B vitamins.

Eating lemons provides numerous benefits, including a boost of vitamin C for immune function and collagen production, antioxidants to protect against cell damage, and citric acid that can help prevent kidney stones. Lemons also support hydration, aid digestion, improve iron absorption, and may help lower the risk of heart disease.

The fruit's name is derived from the Latin citrus, which is also the origin of the genus name. The binomial name Citrus medica derives from Media, the kingdom of the Medes, where it was believed to originate. So... They are Yellow Medicine !
